• I just heard that Aubrey’s is closing their Farragut restaurant due to parking issues. I’m still in shock and do not understand that parking is a problem when all the businesses that surround the establishment could share their extra parking after hours. The owner, Randy Burleson, has been a Farragut icon for years. He has supported the Farragut community in sports, team events, fundraisers, employment and anything else that involved our youth and adults. Randy has taken care of our population and we need to take care of his business! Please show your support by contacting the “powers that be” and keep his amazing restaurant in our community. Let Randy know that we love and support him! He has given so much to our schools and community.

• Concerning the person who called in concerning the assisted living project on Herron property, 11 months it has taken to get the project approved was not the correct information but this person’s opinion. It actually was a 4.6 acre piece of property that needed to be 5 acres-plus in order to meet the current zoning that was in force at that time. The major delay was not from the Board of Mayor and Aldermen or the Farragut Metropolitan [sic] Planning Commission but from the local residents who wanted to argue on if it should be there or not be there. It was a Constitutional right of the American citizens to show up at this public forum and express their opinion and they did so for months. Alderman [Louise] Povlin was just doing her duty of the position that she has been given to clarify the ordinance that was in place, the new ordinance that is in place.
