Shae Design Studio moves into Lovell Heights
Shae Seeber, a Farragut resident, has moved her business, Shae Design Studio, from Pellissippi Perimeter Park to Lovell Heights shopping center off Kingston Pike.
Seeber said she outgrew the previous location so she opened her new site March 5.
“We had a very small location at Pellissippi Perimeter Park off Pellissippi Parkway,” she said. “We did well. People heard about us through word of mouth.”
The new site was a new fit for the growing company, she said.
Shae and her team provide interior decorating, renovation projects, kitchen cabinetry and renovation and furnishings for their customers. She also writes about Knoxville area design trends in Everything Knoxville magazine.
“We bridge the gap between the homeowner and the contractor, because homeowners don’t typically know where to start or how to plan their renovations and contractors deal with people but are list takers” she said. “They typically have the homeowner tell them what to do. So typically, there’s a disconnect.
“We help the homeowner come up with a concept and plan so the contractor can come up with an accurate cost.”
Seeber said many people find items they would like for a room but when they put them together, it does not always look as the homeowner envisioned.
“We help them shop for all those things so they love [the renovation] when it’s done,” she said. “We’re a really great resource. We can provide cabinets, lighting, furniture, accessories and interior design.
“The furniture in our showroom is amazing because it’s something you don’t see everywhere else,” Seeber said. “There are so many design styles here. You can find something for every space.
“The great thing is we have pieces from all over the country and all over the world.”
“If someone is lacking inspiration for his or her space, we have five designers on our staff who can inspire him or her,” she said.
Seeber said she and her team also provide their experience on a project, and they can offer three-dimensional color renderings of a client’s project.
Seeber has been interior decorating for about 11 years, 10 of which were in her home and one year was at the Pellissippi store.
“It didn’t take long to outgrow the space,” she said.
Seeber said she got her love for building and design from her father.
“We lived on a farm,” she said. “He did a lot of construction. I was the oldest of five [children]. I provided a lot of free labor.
“My dad wanted us to have skills. I did flooring, tile work, building, I absolutely loved every bit of it.”
When Seeber and her husband married, they flipped houses while her three children were young.
“People started asking me to do their interior design selections and construction,” she said.
Those requests led her into the interior decorating field and she hired designers to come alongside her in her business.
“We have a diverse team, and when we collaborate, we are a powerhouse,” she said.
