• Farragut Alderman Louise Povlin has completed Level 1 of The University of Tennessee Municipal Technical Advisory Service’s Elected Officials Academy. This was the first time MTAS held both a Level 1 and Level 2 Elected Officials Academy before Tennessee Municipal League annual conference. The Level 1 program included five two-hour sessions on council at work, codes, charters and open records, ethics
and open meetings, finance, foundations and structures of local governments.
• Eric Penniman, DO, has been named executive medical director of Summit Medical Group. He will serve as a liaison between Summit’s 230 physicians, more than 150 advanced practitioners and support staff, patients, business partners and the community.
• Mitch List has been hired as assistant general manager for Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum. List, who has a strong background in event services, will support the general manager in overseeing all aspects of KCAC. He came to KCAC from Kansas Expo-centre in Topeka, Kansas, another Spectacor Management Group-managed property.
• Scott McKnight, a facilities management professional, has been hired as operations manager for Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum.
His duties are to make sure the building is clean, comfortable, well-maintained and safe for clients and patrons. He joined KCAC following a 25-year career in facilities management for several public school districts in Dallas-Fort Worth Metro-plex.
