Business-minded Scott, CCS junior, serving with EDC
Concord Christian School junior Carson Scott has answered town of Farragut’s call to serve on a Town committee.
With encouragement from parents Brent and Terri Scott, their son applied to serve on Farragut Economic Development Com-mittee, which in turn, appointed the teen during its Wednesday, Dec. 7 meeting.
“I have always been interested in how our Town’s government works,” Scott said. “A few months back, I saw an article in the farragutpress about the other high school student representatives and thought that it would be a great opportunity for me to learn more about our government.
“My ex-pectations are that I will leave knowing how our Town government functions and knowing what I can do to help make [the Town] better,” he added. “I will be able to contribute a point of view for a younger generation.”
Looking ahead, “I have already had my first college visit to Lipscomb University, and I plan to do many more,” Scott said. “I am looking into getting a degree in business. I want a career in business, so I thought that getting a position with the EDC would help me.”
