Grove retires after 26 years at fpress; Long new Ad head
With 26 years serving and working in lock-step with the Farragut business community, Elaine Grove has retired as associate publisherladvertising manager with farragutpress.
“”It’s been more than a job to me. I have enjoyed almost every minute of it,” Grove, with more than 30 years in the newspaper advertising business, said. “The people, both here in the office and the ones I’ve worked with in the business community, have made it very special. It’s something I will miss.”

She’s been a tremendous asset to the farragutpress and Farragut,” said Tony Cox, president of Republic Newspapers, Inc., parent company of farragutpress. “She’s been the community representative of the newspaper in many organizations. She will be missed inside this building. We all wish her nothing but the best in her retirement.”
Sherry Long, a highly respected advertising representative for 14 years — almost 10 at farragutpress — has been named the paper’s new advertising manager effective Wednesday, Jan. 18.
“There are very few times throughout my career that opportunity has fallen into my lap. Sherry’s returned presence at the farragutpress is one of those times,” Cox said. “With Sherry’s familiarity with the farragutpress, her new role should be a smooth transition. We’re all excited to work with her and to see what vision she can bring to our advertising department and our newspaper.”

“I am looking forward to working with the farragutpress as ad manager, but wish we could clone Elaine and let one retire and keep the other one here,” Long said. “Her years of knowledge will be the biggest challenge to be without.
