Christen, longtime farragutpress graphic artist, promoted; Evans returns as reporter
The promotion of a dedicated graphic artist-lead designer, whose leadership in farragutpress Production department has been critical to the paper’s success for almost 14 years, comes while the paper also adds a talented and energetic people-person to its editorial staff.
Tony Christen has been promoted to Production Department manager, it was announced late last week by Tony Cox, president of Republic Newspapers, Inc., parent company of farragutpress.
“Tony's experience in our graphics and production department and his familiarity with our print vendors and customers made the promotion to production manager a natural next step,” Cox said. “He's been a part of the farragutpress family for more than 10 years. I look forward to working with him in his new role at the farragutpress.”
“It’s been a long-time goal, well over 10 years,” said Christen, whose talents at farragutpress also include “editorial page-building and news photograph.”
“I’m very pleased and very honored that Mr. Cox entrusted me with having that title.”
With roughly 12 years of journalism experience as a reporter and feature writer dating back to her college years at East Tennessee State University, Carolyn Evans is beginning her second stint as a farragutpress general assignment reporter after a “very happy time” here in 20-05-2006.
“We are really excited to have Carolyn join our staff. Her familiarity with the Farragut community will be a benefit for our readers,” Cox said.
“farragutpress is fortunate to have Carolyn on board. Her talents as a writer complement her skill, and sheer enjoyment, when it comes to interacting with our community,” Alan Sloan, farragutpress editor, said.
