FMS boys end 9-6
A successful season came to an end Saturday, Feb. 4, for the Farragut Middle School boys basketball team. The Admirals reached the quarterfinals of the James A. Ivey Jr. Memorial Middle School Basketball tourney.
Farragut dropped a 44-28 decision to the Bearden Bruins at Karns Middle School.. FMS advanced after a home win Friday, Feb. 10, versus Whittle Springs.
The Admirals were 8-5 during the Knox County Middle School Basketball Conference regular season, finishing tied for fourth with the Bruins. “We had a good season and we had some good kids,” head coach Randy Swartzentruber said.
Swartzentruber found a bright spot Saturday in seventh-grade point guard Dillon Atwell, who nailed a trey of 3-point field goals.
Other team members are Mason Motley; Eli Purcell (10 points in the season finale); Matt White; Jake Wallace; Colby Hale; Jack Carasso; Darrell Davis; Hunter Merrick; Trey Nesbitt; Colin Webb; Mason Collins; Pierce Vaught; Eli Jones; David Beaver and Carter Mayfield.
