Spring break is almost here and that means summer is not too far behind. For many families in Farragut, summer is synonymous with summer league swim teams. Summer swimming is an opportunity for kids to have fun, make friends and stay active during the summer months. Summer swim teams welcome kids of all skill levels from ages 5 to 18 and provide an opportunity for them to learn and strengthen their swimming skills while learning the principles of teamwork and sportsmanship. Farragut has four teams that are a part of the Greater Knoxville Area Interclub Swimming Association (GKA-ISA). Those teams are the Concord Hills Piranhas, the Fox Den Red Foxes, the Sugarwood Stingrays, and the Village Green Gators.
The Concord Hills swim team will have registration days in April and May. Dates will be posted on the team website (concordhills.swim-team.us) in the next few weeks. The best way to contact the team is to send an e-mail to the team account (email@example.com). The Concord Hills Piranhas are entering their 31st season in GKAISA. They have a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and the hard-working coaches create a fun-filled environment for kids of all abilities to learn about swimming. They have a great facility where they offer morning and evening practice options and a learn-to-swim program.
The Fox Den swim team registration begins at an open house at Fox Den Country Club (12284 North Fox Den Drive) on Sunday, April 2, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Online registration will be open on their website (foxden.swim-team.us) after April 2. Contact information can be found on the website, as well. Fox Den has grown in size and level of competitiveness over the past few years. Even so, they continue to strive to make their swim team feel like a family.
The Sugarwood swim team will have registration in early April. Dates will be posted on team’s website(sugarwoodstingrays.swim-team.us). Contacts can be found on the website, as well. Sugarwood respects all of its swimmers, meets them at their particular skill level and helps them develop into strong competitive swimmers. The team celebrates the fun and less intense atmosphere of summer swim with weekly Fun Fridays, participation in Farragut’s Independence Day Parade, home meet dance parties and after-meet visits to Sonic.
Village Green will open registration up in early April. For more information, go to their website: Villagegreengators.com. You may contact them via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Village Green has a strong coaching staff that really cares about the children as they instruct them on swimming and life skills of hard work, team participation and encouragement. Practices are fun for the children, meets are a great time to hang out with friends, and they offer a lot of other activities throughout the summer, such as a carnival, a Splash Country trip, a tie dye party, and a banquet.
We have great summer swim teams in Farragut. They have an amazing way of creating a summer swim team family for both kids and parents.
