I wholeheartedly agree with the letter, which appeared in the issue of May 24. Bob Markli’s election as Mayor of Farragut would result in a clear conflict of interest.
I’d like to see his voting record as alderman in this regard. I’d also like to remind voters that he once proposed an ordinance, which would require that every household in the Town own a firearm. This has nothing to do with gun ownership itself; I am not “anti-gun” and have no problem with folks owning firearms. But it does say a great deal about a person who would even propose something so ridiculous.
