• Could the farragutpress research, and report on, the legalities of placing campaign signs in public right-of-ways? It appears a certain … candidate has placed quite a few of his signs in what appears to be public right-of-way areas (See story below Presstalk).
• I’m calling just to express an opinion. I’ve been reading about (Farragut Alderman) Bob Markli and him running for mayor. It’s very encouraging to me to think that a guy like Bob Markli would end up being the next mayor in Farragut. I’m very much in favor of his stances on the issues.
• I decided to do a little test to see (which Farragut mayoral candidate) I will vote for, (Alderman Bob) Markli or (Alderman Ron) Williams? I wrote each of them a letter asking when the orange barrel problem along Everett Road will be fixed? Ron Williams called me, was very nice, but nothing has happened. Bob Markli totally ignored me and nothing has happened. Now my choice apparently is between a nice guy who gets nothing done and someone who ignores me and gets nothing done. I guess I’m going to go with the nice guy because, sadly, there seems to be no choice — no third choice.
• Farragut High School is consistently ranked as one of the best in the state. Farragut also has an impressive percentage of residents with college degrees — and even advanced degrees. Apparently this means that Farragut also has an astounding number of educated idiots per capita. Just check out the Police Report and Presstalk every week. I left my purse in the front seat of my unlocked BMW and was dumbfounded when I returned and found it missing. Why would any resident want to actually sell their property? They should just donate it to the Town to be used as a park. When is the Town going to do something about the empty Ingles building? It would be a great idea if the Town (Board of Mayor and Aldermen) would televise their meetings (They do on Spectrum channel 193; TDS channel 3 starting at 7 p.m., each second and fourth Thursday of the month); etc. Yes we have come a long way, but it is more than obvious we still have a long way to go. Come on Farragut, we can do better.
