• I was impressed and encouraged by (Alderman) Bob Markli’s opposition to spending $6 million on (McFee) Park expansion, and also opposing the Hotel/Motel Tax. We should encourage our hotel/motel business instead of penalizing it with taxes. Farragut is not a tourist destination, as our aldermen seem to describe it. Tourists use our hotel/motel facilities as a stopping-off destination for continuing on to Knoxville and Sevierville — not to play pickleball.
