Gilliam heads FDCC 18-Hole champs

Carolyn Gilliam was presented her FDCC Ladies 18-Hole Championship Flight trophy by Jamie Chapman, first assistant club pro.

Carolyn Gilliam proved dominant in her Fox Den Country Club Ladies 18-Hole Championship Flight showdown match versus R.J. Whitfield, for top honors, during final round match play Thursday, July 19.

Gilliam won 7 & 6, having beaten Karen Jones (5 & 4) during first-round play Tuesday, July 17, then defeating Catherine Manning (4 & 3) during semifinal action Wednesday, July 18.

Debbie Siddons was crowned 18-Hole First Flight Club champion after defeating Jamie Knowling 1 up, needing an extra playoff hole to decide the issue July 19.

Siddons beat Jill Tomlinson 1 up in the opening round, then bested Betty Macdonald 1 up in the semifinals.

Betty Dick captured Second Flight 18-Hole honors after edging Grace Mutz 1 up, also needing a 19th playoff hole July 19.

Dick defeated Mary Christofferson in the semifinal match July 18.
