The band is back together

For Farragut High School’s Marching Admirals, summer band camp is a big deal. For two weeks in July, the roughly 160-member group works from 8:30 a.m. to around 9 p.m., with only two breaks in-between, preparing for the season ahead. This year was especially significant, because for the first time in more than six years a new band skipper, Kenneth Carrico, and a new band assistant, Elizabeth Gott, are at the helm.

They spent time getting to know band members, while also teaching them new routines as part of their fall season show, “Arctic Lights.”

The newly minted group then performed a family preview of the program Friday evening, July 27, concluding two weeks of fun, friendship and dedication necessary to continue the proud tradition of the school’s award-winning Marching Admirals.
