M-West is next
This Friday, Aug. 31, will represent a night of firsts for the Farragut High School.
The Admirals (2-0) will hit the road for the first time this season when they invade Burke-Toney Stadium to take on Morristown West. The contest also will be the first Region 1-6A tilt for Farragut and the Trojans (1-1).
Morristown West, which is coming off a 42-0 loss to defending Class 4A state champion Greeneville, won the Morristown City Championship with a 28-23 victory over crosstown rival Morristown East.
“They’re a good team. They have a lot of players back,” Courtney said. “We have the scouting report that we made from watching the film. They’re physical. They have a good quarterback, some big, tall and physical receivers and some good running backs.
“We’ll have to improve from Week 2 to Week 3, like we did from Week 1 to Week 2,” he added. ”We’ll have to have big plays on special teams like we did (last) week.”
“I remember that they were a pretty good team last year and they had a good defense,” senior running back Kyle Carter said. “That’s a tough place to go play and they have a good tradition.”
