As such, Mahn opened Kat’s Lash Lounge & Wax Studio Aug. 3 in Saah Salon Suites, 102 S. Campbell Station Road. A registered aesthetician, Mahn provides eyelash extensions and tinting, waxing, facials and spray tans.
“You can go anywhere to get a haircut or waxing, but I think people tend to gravitate toward someone they trust and they like,” she said. “It’s about the experience, and I feel like every service should be an experience, and you should enjoy it and take something out of it for you, not just the service.”
Mahn uses Xtreme Lashes, which is applying one lash to one lash. She explained eyelashes, like hair, are on a four- to six-week cycle, so every four to six weeks they are coming in or shedding on their own.
“As long as you are attaching one to one, then when you shed your natural lash, the extension will just go with it,” Mahn said. “As long as it’s done correctly, it’s absolutely safe.”
She noted, however, most people get extension fills every two to three weeks because lashes shed.
Mahn also does brow design along with Brazilian, bikini, lip, underarm, chin, chest and back waxing. ”I’ll wax everything but your car,” she said, smiling.
With the spray tans, Mahn uses Norvell’s airbrush tan.
And, she said, a “facial makes you feel good.
“It lifts your spirits, and it’s also really good for our skin,” she added. “We should be getting one once a month, at least.
“Anything we can do to help ourselves turn over and boost our collagen production is going to keep us looking younger longer. And, we want to look our best and feel our best.”
The same could be said about spray tans. “We definitely don’t want to be sitting in the sun anymore,” Mahn said. “We all know about the damage of the sun.
“We’ve had a lot of skin cancer scares lately, and (the sun) causes wrinkles,” she added. “Why not have a spray tan? You still want the glow.”
Mahn has been an aesthetician for almost 12 years. She got into the business because “I’ve always been interested in the beauty business and making people feel good and look good.”
After Mahn had her daughter, she attended South Carolina Massage and Aesthetics Institute and was certified and licensed through that state’s Board of Cosmetology. She then specialized with Xtreme Lashes on its eyelash extensions and with Norvell for spray tans.
When she discovered Saah Salon Suites, Mahn said it was her “ah-ha” moment. “It just felt really right.”

Mahn learned about Saah Salon Suites by accident.
“We were moving from Georgia to here and looking for a location,” she said. “I had a business in Georgia.”
