Wilson takes issue with story, stresses ‘positive’ from EDAC meeting

I would like to address and rectify the recent article included in the farragutpress titled “Avoid blindsides, Wilson tells EDAC.” I was invited to that meeting to share my company’s experience as a local business who opened a storefront this past year.

My primary goal was to be helpful to the EDAC and provide insight from a business owner’s perspective while offering ideas and suggestions on how to help other new business owners who choose Farragut as a place to open their business in the future. I am passionate about helping other small business owners and being an agent for positive change and new ways of thinking as I shared at the meeting.

I feel the article released had a negative impression of what actually came out of my time in that meeting along with the photograph the paper chose to include.

The expression in the photograph set the tone of the article in many ways. I did not come to the meeting to be a naysayer nor a complainer. Rather, I came to present what I personally have experienced along with ideas of how to improve on that, as well as, share the positives of being in Farragut.

I have spoken with several who were in the meeting and everyone felt very positive about what was shared. My desire is to be an advocate of positive, helpful change. I believe that is what helps us all take a step forward in life and in business.
