Grandparents Day
Lana “Mamzee” Armstrong helped celebrate granddaughter Sophie Gibbs’ birthday.
Grandparents were the stars at Farragut Intermediate School Friday, Sept. 28, when the school hosted its wildly popular Grandparents’ Day luncheon. Several hundred visited the school to dine with their grandchildren in the cafeteria, which was decorated with festive tablecloths and fall mums from Mayo’s Garden Center. The event is open to third-graders only due to space constraints, but it is eagerly anticipated each school year.
“The grandparents love it, and the kids love it,” said FIS principal Debbie Adorante, who commended third-grade teachers Linda Cline and Niki Adams for their work in putting together the event each year.
