• Young Professionals of Knoxville will host its 6th Annual Impact Awards gala Friday, Nov. 16, at The Foundry on the World’s Fair Site. The group also is seeking nominations for the awards, which will honor three organizations based on size, impact, philosophy, commuity involvement and overall leadership of young professionals. Nominations are open through Friday, Oct. 19. Nominees and nominators are not required to be members of the Young Professionals of Knoxville. • Lisa Stanley, owner of Stanley’s Greenhouse and Plant Farm, and Susie Stiles, a licensed clinical social worker with Elder Law of Monica Franklin, recently kicked off the seventh annual Pansy Project at Stanley’s Greenhouse and Plant Farm, 3029 Davenport Road. Special purple and orange pansies are taking their places on the Knox County landscape this fall. The purple flowers represent the fight against Alzheimer’s disease while the orange flowers represent the University of Tennessee, where the late Pat Summitt coached the Lady Vols for 38 seasons. Goal of the Alzheimer’s Pansy Project is to decorate Knoxville in purple and orange pansies in support of all fighting the disease. Stanley’s will donate a portion of the proceeds from the pansy sales to The Pat Summitt Foundation through the end of November.
