• National Committee for Quality Assurance has recognized 38 Summit Medical Group primary care offices for providing excellent care through its Patient-Centered Medical Home program. All 38 Summit practice sites that pursued NCQA PCMH recognition under new 2017 standards succeeded in earning that distinction. The offices include Farragut Family Practice, Summit Medical Group at Farragut and Hardin Valley Internal Medicine.

• Shannon Sapp, formerly chief operating officer of Merit Construction Inc., has been named president of the Knoxville-based general contractor. Sapp has worked for Merit since 1996 and also has served as corporate secretary of its Board. Sapp was recognized by Greater Knoxville Business Journal as one of its “40 Under 40” leaders. He currently is serving on the Associated General Contractors of America Board of Governors and has served in many capacities of AGC, including being past president of the Knoxville Branch of AGC.

• Clayton F. Stokely has been named president of The Stokely Hotel Group, which is comprised of Staybridge Suites Hotel at 11319 Campell Lakes Drive, Farragut, as well as Edgewater Hotel in Gatlinburg. Stokely is a 1999 graduate of the University of Tennessee, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel and restaurant management administration. He joined the Stokely Company in 2009 as assistant general manager of Edgewater Hotel and later was promoted to general manager, serving in that capacity for four years.
