Extra $1 million for state health earns Massey special ’18 award
State Sen. Becky Massey (R-District 6, which includes much of Concord) has received a prestigious award for her work to improve the health of Tennesseans.
Tennessee Primary Care Association recently awarded Massey its 2018 William V. Corr Award, the group’s highest honor, recognizing exemplary leadership in health policy development and innovative program implementation.
Massey received the award for her leadership and support of community-based health care and her work to ensure that Tennessee’s health care safety net remains strong.
She added an amendment to the state Appropriations bill that resulted in an additional $1 million to help Tennesseans receive access to care.
“I am honored to receive this award,” Massey said. “It is very important that Tennesseans have access to primary health care services in communities across our state.”
I look forward to continuing to work with patients, policy makers and health care providers to improve health care for our citizens.”
