• Farragut hearing specialist Michael Murphy with Beltone South has received the Hearing Care Practitioner of the Year award, which is given to hearing specialists who “go above and beyond for their patients.”
• Larry Steckel, a professor with University of Tennessee Plant Sciences, recently was honored with the Outstanding Educator Award, presented by Southern Weed Science Society at its 2019 annual meeting, for making significant contributions to the society and weed science discipline through education.
• Knoxville Realtor Linda Meese has become a Sterling R Major Investor in the Realtors Political Action Committee. According to National Association of Realtors, Meese has supported RPAC for more than 30 years and been a member of NAR since 1986.
• Janis Terpenny, head of Pennsylvania State University Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering department, has been chosen the Wayne T. Davis Endowed Dean’s chair and dean of UT’s Tickle College of Engineering starting Aug. 1.
