Webb’s Hale a national art medal honoree
Jacob Hale, Webb School of Knoxville senior, recently won a National Scholastic Silver Medal for his photography entry at the 2019 National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
Among 2,700-plus student participants in grades 7-through-12 in all 50 states, and roughly 20,000 works judged, Hale is the only student in the Greater Knoxville area to be named a 2019 Scholastic National Medal winner.
Hale’s photography entry, “Crimson Weaver,” also earned Gold Key distinction at this year’s Southeast Region At-Large Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
Fellow Webb seniors Henry Crettol, Hannah Duncan and Anna Bryn Williams joined sophomore Sarah Harvey as other regional Gold Key winners, which resulted in an automatic berth to the national contest.
