HVA track 3rd, 5th; Farragut teams in top 10 in Vol Classic

Drawing a multi-state field, in addition to top talent from Memphis to the Tri-Cities, annual Volunteer Track Classic at the University of Tennessee’s Tom Black Track saw Hardin Valley Academy lead the way among Knox County girls and boys team results following events Friday and Saturday, April 19-20.

HVA’s boys finished third (48 points), followed by Farragut taking sixth (38) and Bearden earning 10th (30).

Hardin Valley’s Lady Hawks finished fifth (49), with the FHS Lady Admirals placing 10th (24).

Two first-place boys individual event finishes locally were Farragut’s 4 X 400-meter relay team (3:22.81) and Bearden’s 4 X 800 relay squad (8:27.56).

Girls teams from the area who earned individual event top finishes were HVA’s Kensi Gray, a senior, in the 800-run (2:19.70); Webb School of Knoxville’s Jasmine Jefferson, a junior, in the 400-dash (58.50); and the Lady Hawks’ 4 X 200 relay foursome (1:47.05).
