"It" Girl Again

Raelee Scarbrough, Farragut High School cheerleader and a junior, has been chosen by Varsity Spirit Intelligence Team for a second consecutive year to represent its brand in 2019-20.
For the second year in a row, Farragut High School cheerleader Raelee Scarbrough will officially be “It.”

Scarbrough, a junior, was chosen over thousands of applicants as a Varsity Spirit Intelligence Team member and “It” girl for the 2019-20 season, a role for which she also is performing this school year.

“Varsity ‘It’ girls are a special team of girls compromised of 125 of the best and brightest cheerleaders and dancers from across the nation,” stated a press release.

Varsity Spirit Fashion is described by the company web site as “the innovative global leader in cheerleading and dance fashion … (providing) customized uniforms, shoes and apparel built for the new generation of spirit leaders.”

Scarbrough will serve as a Varsity “It” girl through May 2020, completing various projects and providing feedback concerning the programs offered by Varsity Spirit.

She has been cheering since she was in third grade, and her upcoming senior year will be her fourth with the FHS squad.

“I feel so honored to have been chosen … and am excited to work alongside Varsity again for my senior year of high school cheerleading,” Scarbrough said.

As an “It” ambassador and representative, Scarbrough has served as a product influencer via social media for Varsity Fashions. In that role, Scarbrough receives and tests Varsity products free of charge, such as backpacks, shoes and jackets, then promotes them via social media.

She is the only FHS student so honored. Scarbrough also models cheerleading uniforms for Varsity Spirit Fashion catalog.

Leah Buege, social media and marketing specialist with Varsity Sprit, notified Scarbrough via e-mail she had been selected again for the 2019-20 school year, and praised her for “an amazing job representing Varsity Spirit and reviewing our products” during the 2018-19 school year.

Scarbrough is excited not only about working with the company in the coming year, but also credits its focus on community volunteering with her own efforts to raise funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and Farragut High School sophomore Mason Motley, who has been battling cancer during the last year.

“I love everything Varsity is about, especially their desire to give back to the community and encourage volunteering,” she said.
