Easier now for permits, inspections
Farragut is going paperless in several key areas as it launches an online permitting and inspection process starting Tuesday, May 21.
According to officials, all permitting, planning and zoning processes will now take place using MyGovernmentOnline software.
“We see this as a several step process, with the roll out of the new system as the first step,” said Sue Stuhl, Parks & Recreation Director and Town media liaison.
This software will be utilized by contractors, developers and residents, Stuhl added.
“Everything submitted now on paper forms, from codes, planning and engineering, will be done online. In addition, anyone making a citizen request or complaint will use the online system to register that request.”
That includes concerns such as potholes, missing road signs, vandalism or overgrown lots, which were previously reported through the Citizen Request Tracker on the Town’s website, which will now be reported instead in the mygovernmetnonline Solution Center.
Officials suggested visiting townoffarragut.org/mgo for more information and to learn how to create a free account. Contractors, developers and residents are encouraged to proceed with creating an account, Stuhl said.
However, any supporting documents relating to specific issues will not be able to be uploaded until Tuesday, May 21.
A computer kiosk also will be available at Town Hall in the Community Development/Codes office, and staff will be on site to answer questions as well.
