• At 9:45 p.m., Thursday, May 23, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office unit responded to a Lawton Boulevard residence in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, officer reported making contact with complainant/victim, who said she gave her daughter (suspect) and former roommate (suspect) permission to enter her residence while she was at work to collect belongings they had left inside since moving out in January. Complainant said she returned to her residence shortly after to
find three brand new cell phones she had just purchased, along with her credit card, had been stolen. She estimates the total value of cell phones was around $3,000.
• At 12:55 p.m., May 23, a KCSO unit responded to JCPenney, 11534 Parkside Drive, on report of theft of merchandise. Upon arrival, officer reported making contact with Loss Prevention officer (complainant). Complainant advised the suspect concealed $57 in merchandise and proceeded past all points of sale. Complainant made contact with suspect before she entered the parking lot, where she did admit to concealing and leaving the store without paying. Suspect was issued a misdemeanor citation for theft. Suspect also was criminally trespassed from JCPenney by LP officer.
• At 10:51 a.m., May 23, a Farragut Hills Boulevard complainant called KCSO West Precinct to report an incident at a Concord Road business address. He advised an unknown suspect took the down spouts at the unoccupied office building. Complainant advised he is the property manager for the business and he noticed the down spouts were missing. He was unsure of a suspect at the time of this report.
• On Wednesday, May 22, a Danbury Road complainant called KCSO Teleserve Unit to report perfume stolen from Walgreens, 10701 Kingston Pike. He advised while checking the surveillance footage he observed the unknown suspect placing perfume from the case into a shopping basket and then proceeding to the restroom with the merchandise. He advised the suspect later exited the restroom, but the perfume was no longer in sight. He advised suspect then left the store without paying for the item. Retail cost of the perfume was listed at $1,065.06.
