Cyan Insurance opens Farragut office
Ken and April Finster, owner/agents, have opened the second office of their business, Cyan Insurance Solutions, at 11826 Kingston Pike, Suite 110, in the same building as Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce. Their stated mission is helping clients navigate the senior health care maze.
“Pretty much everybody who calls us or comes through that door is confused,” April said. “And, they all feel like they are the only ones confused, but that’s not the case.”
“That’s one of the things we do is help (clients) navigate the complexity of these government programs because they can be confusing,” Ken said.
With their first office in California, the Finsters opened their second office in February at 11826 Kingston Pike, Suite 110, in the same building as Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber will host a ribbon cutting for Cyan Insurance Solutions beginning at 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 7, in the Cyan office.
“We really concentrate on three things, which are big decisions people have to make as they are thinking about retirement,” Ken said. “The first is what to do about Medicare; the second is what to do about long-term care; and the third is when to claim Social Security benefits.”
Cyan provides health insurance for people over 65, long-term care and life insurance, as well as Social Security needs.
“We’re independent agents, so we educate a client about how these sometimes complex programs work and help them look at the options that are out there in the market that might best fit their needs,” Ken said. “Every client’s different.
“We do this consulting at no charge,” April added.
“We’re both educators, so we come at it from that angle,” Ken said.
Prior to opening their insurance company, he was a college professor and April was a high school math teacher.
“I’ve given lots of workshops and seminars at night about these exact topics,” Ken said.
“Being independent agents, we have lots of different plans that are available, so we pick the right plan for the client,” he added.
Along with a multitude of plans, April said the Finsters also stay current on Medicare and Social Security issues, new plans, new programs, funding mechanisms and legislation.
The Finsters have had the Cyan Insurance Solutions office in California for 20 years.
Cyan Insurance Solutions is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
