BHS cheerleaders shine at UCA camp, in Orlando
Bearden High School’s cheerleading squad went to the University of Tennessee for Universal Cheerleaders Association cheer camp July 8-11 and came away with impressive hardware.
After learning a lot of cheers, stunts, dances and pyramids, they came back with the following awards: first place Overall Game Day Champs; first place Cheer; second place Sideline; and second place Rally Routine.
Three BHS cheerleaders were selected as All-Americans earning a chance to perform in the London New Years Parade (Alexa Vance, Ashley Jones and Leini Elder).
The team also had three Pin It Forward recipients (Alexa Vance, Lily Bailes and Gracie Sapp). Captains were invited to the Orlando Spirit Spectacular at Disney World, while all six seniors were asked to try out for UCA instructor. The team was asked to perform at the Citrus Bowl.
