KCSO police reports
• At 3:32 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 25, a complainant called Knox County Sheriff’s Office Teleserve Unit to report a theft of her vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, from a Sonja Drive residence. Complainant advised her son, the suspect, had prior permission to use the vehicle, but due to insurance not authorizing him as someone covered, he no longer has permission to use the vehicle. Complainant advised she last saw the suspect and vehicle around 11:30 p.m., Aug. 25. Complainant was advised due to prior permission for the suspect to use the vehicle, it would not be entered into NCIC until a detective reviews the case. Listed value of vehicle was $10,000.
• At 9:14 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, a KCSO unit responded to a South Monticello Drive address in regard to property damage involving a vehicle. Complainant/property owner said he heard a loud crash outside his residence and went outside to observe. A 2006 Dodge Ram pick-up truck had knocked down his mailbox and continued through his yard, coming to rest after damaging a retaining wall that separates the resident’s driveway and flower bed. Officer spoke to suspect/vehicle owner, who advised she had pulled into the driveway of a neighboring house to drop off her children for a sleepover. She further stated she left the vehicle running and the truck jumped out of gear, rolling across the roadway and causing the above-mentioned damage. Estimated value of damage was $5,000 to the wall and $100 to the mailbox.
