Turkey Creek Commons is growing

Motorists traveling along Kingston Pike toward Farragut are witnessing dirt being moved for an expansion of Turkey Creek Commons, located next to Old Stage Road.

Named from the creek running beside the development, Robert Shagan, property owner and developer, said, “We are building a speculative 10,000-square-foot building for lease.”

The current work under way is Phase 2 of the property’s development.

“We are very excited (having) started a couple of weeks ago,” he said. “It might take around a year or more to get it up and going well.

“This building was planned for 2017, when we submitted a full set of CDs to the Town to find out the design guidelines had changed and we had not been notified,” Shagan added. “It took a year-and-a-half to get the design drawings back on track and meet the new design guidelines for the Town at a huge cost increase.

”We had asked for a variance from the Town to the new rules but did not get it,” he added. “This second building will also look completely different from the first due to these issues.

“The bays sizes will be offered at 1,525 square feet, (and) there will be up to seven of (the bays). We have not put out our for lease sign yet as we feel it is to early to make those plans yet.”

Shagan said there are plans for a Phase 3 in the near future. That phase would include10,000 more square feet.
