Village Green, Sultan, plan for week 2 of multi-family subdivision food order Wednesday evenings
In a show of subdivision support for Farragut businesses in Village Green, and getting a tasty meal out of it, “We want to assist our local restaurants by placing a large multi-family order once a week,” said Kate Sultan, a Village Green resident whose subdivision already has participated in this effort (Wednesday, April 1) thanks to Mario’s Pizza & Grill and Forno Grill.
For the next mass order, Mexican is the targeted fare for Wednesday evening, April 8.
“We will have orders delivered to the clubhouse where each family can pick up their meal,” Sultan said. “In order for this to work we need participation from you, our Village Green neighbors. There are many great restaurants in our town and we want them to be there for us long after this crisis is over so we need to be there for them now.
“Our plan is this ...on Wednesday nights we'll have Clubhouse Delivery Night,” she added. “We will have one or two local restaurants each week and we are open to suggestions going forward.”
“They had a very successful first week,” said Stephen Krempasky, executive director of Shop Farragut/Farragut Business Alliance who helped Sultan in the organization effort.
To participate, Sultan will advise Village Green residents the specific restaurants for the coming and their contact information (krsultan@comcast.net).
When receiving this, call your order to that, or those, specific restaurant(s) anytime (immediately if desire), but no later than 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 8.
“Tell them this is part of a larger group order for Village Green for Wednesday delivery,” Sultan said. “You will pay for your order directly with the restaurant. Send us a confirmation e-mail (krsultan@comcast.net) that you placed an order so we know how many orders to expect.
“We will confirm with the restaurant(s) Wednesday afternoon and have the orders delivered to the clubhouse at 6:30 p.m. (That time is flexible going forward),” she added.
“Each family's order should be labeled with a last name. Should it be a nice evening and you want to eat at one of the picnic tables, you are welcome to do that. If not, we will hand you your dinner and wish you a good evening.”
As for reaching out, “If anyone would like to help organize this effort, we would welcome the assistance,” Sultan said. “… Thanks in advance for your participation.”
