With ‘Delivery Night,’ V-Green promotes restaurants weekly

In a show of subdivision support for Farragut businesses, Village Green’s Homeowner’s Association has begun hosting “Clubhouse Delivery Night.”

“We want to assist our local restaurants by placing a large multi-family order once a week,” said Kate Sultan, a Village Green resident whose subdivision already participated in this effort Wednesday, April 1, thanks to Mario’s Pizza & Grill and Forno Grill.

Sultan will advise the specific restaurants for the coming week and their contact information.

While Mexican was the targeted fare Wednesday evening, April 8, she said La Parilla and El Mezcal may be the choices for April 15.

“In order for this to work we need participation from our Village Green neighbors,” Sultan said. “There are many great restaurants in our Town, and we want them to be there for us long after this crisis is over, so we need to be there for them now.

“We will have one or two local restaurants each week, and we are open to suggestions going forward.”

“They had a very successful first week,” said Stephen Krempasky, executive director of Shop Farragut/Farragut Business Alliance, who helped Sultan in the organization effort.

“You will pay for your order directly with the restaurant,” Sultan said. “Send us a confirmation e-mail that you placed an order ... (and) We will confirm with the restaurant(s) Wednesday afternoon and have the orders delivered to the clubhouse at 6:30 p.m. (That time is flexible going forward).

“Should it be a nice evening and you want to eat at one of the picnic tables, you are welcome to do that,” she added.
