• It is great news that (Vice Mayor) Louise Povlin has decided to run for re-election to the Farragut Board of Mayor and Aldermen (North Ward I). Ms. Povlin has served the Town of Farragut well and has been a tireless worker for Farragut schools.
• I just finished reading the editor’s article (concerning) sales tax revenue loss in Thursday’s farragutpress (April 2). (Alan) Sloan’s article reminded me of the additional business sales tax that could be available if the old Ingles center that was recently, quote “facelifted,” were actually developed. What is actually going on there? There was all kinds of facade work done, but it seems now that it’s just still empty space serving no purpose. If I’m not mistaken, even two large (For) Lease signs are gone. In my humble opinion, the Town of Farragut should have concentrated on developing that a long time ago instead of Admiral’s Corner (being built at the corner of N. Campbell Station Road and Kingston Pike), which is just going to create an incredibly (increased) amount of congestion to an already dangerous, outdated and overgrown with traffic intersection. I know I, for one, won’t be risking becoming a pedestrian in that area to whatever is offered there.
• I picked up the farragutpress paper (April 2 issue) and I just wanted to call and tell the farragutpress and the people working on it, what a beautiful front page. We appreciate it. It’s very lovely. I just wanted to say thank you and I hope all of you stay well.
