Pinnacle’s Letter, ‘Stay’ programs begin

The Pinnacle at Turkey Creek is helping people to be active by launching a new Facebook and Instagram series, Stay Home with the Pinnacle.

Additionally, it kicked off a program, Send Senior Citizens Love, Friday, April 17.

“We have a little onsite mailbox outside of Flemings Prime Steak House (11287 Parkside Drive), and we are collecting letters of love and encouragement for senior citizens who are home right now due to quarantine restrictions or are in nursing homes that are currently closed to visitors,” said Ashley Slimp, The Pinnacle marketing coordinator.

“People can stop by ... and they can also mail them to our property management office (11251 Parkside Drive, Knoxville TN 37934, Attention Sending Seniors Love), and we will be delivering them once a week to facilities where those seniors live.”

Slimp said Pinnacle partnered with Home Instead Senior Care for that program.

“(Home Instead has) sort of become a sister program to Be a Santa to a senior program that we do in the winter, around Christmastime,” she said.

“We were thinking there must be something we can do to encourage and support these local seniors, and we thought what a better way than to send them letters of hope and encouragement that might brighten their days.”

For the online series, Slimp said, “We are doing themed days, so Monday is Mixer Monday; Tuesday is Take-Out Tuesday; Wednesday is Wellness Wednesday, where we’ve partnered with a yoga instructor; Thursday is Throwback Thursday; Friday is Foodie Friday; and Saturday is Super Saturday — like super heroes.”

Mondays, The Pinnacle is providing easy, at-home cocktail recipes “people can whip up at home,” she said. “We’re going to be providing the recipes and list of ingredients in a full video to show how to make the cocktail at home.”

For Take-Out Tuesday, each of the nine restaurants currently open will be featured every week, including information about each restaurant and maybe some inside information on their carryout delivery deals.

For Wellness Wednesdays, The Pinnacle has partnered with You Shine Yoga, owned by Laura DeCastra.

She said on Thursday, “We are going to be throwing it back to events that we’ve enjoyed over the last year,” she said. “That way, people can see some of the fun memories in 2019, and hopefully things we will be able to do again soon when everyone can be together again.”

On Friday, “we’re going to have some breakfast recipes to share with things you probably have at home,” Slimp said.

Then, Saturday is for families of little ones, she said, adding The Pinnacle will have family-friendly arts and crafts parents could with items they probably already have at home.

“The last (craft) was spring flowers you can make out of used toilet paper tubes, so it’s a fun way to recycle things you already have,” Slimp said.
