• West Knoxville’s Weichert, Realtors-Advantage Plus Realtors Mary-Ann Linkowski, Missy Hall and Elizabeth McDaniel recently were named the top agents in the office for the month of April. Linkowski was named the overall Top Agent of the Month while Hall and McDaniel were named the Top Selling and Top Listing agents, respectively.
• King University Board of Trustees members, with campuses in Hardin Valley and Cedar Bluff, recently elected Dan Hurst, Jason Mumpower and Dwight Owens to its board.
• Elizabeth Rose, Pellissippi State Community College director of talent management, recently was selected as one of 12 College and University Professional Association for Human Resources members to participate in the 2020-21 CUPA-HR Wildfire program, a 12-month leadership development experience designed for early career, higher-education human resources professionals. Participants were selected based on their HR strengths and areas for development identified on the application, as well as their interest in and commitment to the program.
• Veteran nursing leader Sandy Leake recently joined the staff of the University of Tennessee Medical Center as senior vice president and chief nursing officer. She comes to the medical center after serving as vice president and chief nursing officer for WellStar Atlanta Medical Center, as well as a visiting assistant professor with Emory University. Leake replaces longtime leader, Janell Cecil, who is retiring. She came to UT Medical Center in 2002 as vice president of the Center for Women & Infants, then was promoted to the top nursing position in 2007.
• Michael Saad recently was promoted to senior vice president and chief information officer at University of Tennessee Medical Center, assuming greater responsibilities as a key member of the center’s leadership team. Saad joined UTMC in 2016 as an interim chief information officer before being promoted to vice president and chief information officer.
• Dr. Michael T. Petty of Concord Chiropractic Clinic in West Knox County announced the addition of Dr. Kyle Koslowski to his practice as an associate doctor. In practice for 34 years and serving as the University of Tennessee Football team’s chiropractor for 24 of them, “Dr, Petty has taken great care in the selection process. He has taken part in Dr. Kyle’s training by allowing him to spend several months in an internship with him as he finished graduate school,” an office press release stated. “With Kyle and Petty meeting at a track meet in Eugene, Oregon, “Dr. Petty was recruited to work the last official Prefontaine Classic professional track meet in Eugene in 2018,” the release stated. He graduated from Life Chiropractic University, as did Petty.
• The University of Tennessee Medical Center has earned an “A” in the Spring 2020 Leapfrong Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing the medical center’s achievements for providing safer health care. The Leapfrog Group is a national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety.
• University of Tennessee Medical Center recently launched a navigational mobile app through which patients and visitors can keep track of where they parked, follow step-by-step instructions to get to their physician appointments, find its pharmacy and gift shop, learn more about the medical center’s individual doctors, refill prescriptions and enjoy several other uses. • Jim Cogdill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Knoxville recently completed stringent requirements to become an official RAM Agriculture Dealership to help them better understand the specific requirements farmers, ranchers and growers need for the trucks on their agricultural operations. The designation enables Jim Cogdill CDJR to offer a specialized AgPack package to farmers and growers, which provides a first-ever return on their truck investment.
• University of Tennessee Medical Center is participating in a plasma trial to help treat severe cases of COVID-19. The center’s epidemiologist is encouraging those who have recovered from the disease and who meet the criteria to consider donating plasma for the trial and visit UT Medical Center’s website at https://medicblood.org/
• Aaron Buck, financial advisor at Brogan Financial off Walker Springs Lane, recently was authorized by Certified Financial Board of Standards (CFP Board) to use the Certified Financial Planner and CFP certification marks in accordance with the CFP Board certification requirements. The marks identify individuals who have met the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the CFP Board.
• University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine has named Dr. David Anderson as its new associate dean of Research and Graduate Studies. He previously served as department head of the college’s Large Animal Clinical Sciences for eight years.
• Cancer Support Community of East Tennessee, in Knoxville, recently received a grant from Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC, Community Invsetment Fund, allowing it to expand services to Oak Ridge.
