• At 10:15 a.m., Saturday, July 4, an officer with Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a Still Water Lane residence for possible trespassing. Victim said her brother, the eventual arrestee, and a witness were at her parents’ house after being evicted. Victim provided the court documentation of eventual arrestee and witness being evicted on Tuesday, June 30, adding she now is Power of Attorney over the estate. Victim also said all doors had been tagged by deputies, after the eviction, stating all locks had been changed. Witness said she was just waiting on her husband to grab a few things from inside the residence. Officer then made contact with eventual arrestee walking out of the back door of the residence, taking him into custody. The husband said he did see the posted documentation on the door and thought it was still OK to grab his belongings out of the residence. Victim said she no longer wanted witness, the eventual arrestee’s wife, to be allowed back on the property. The wife was allowed to grab a dog and a ferret from inside the residence before been given a Criminal Trespass Warning and told not to return to the residence. Damage to the back door and a broken lock, where entry appeared to be forced, was captured on axon body camera (no damage dollar amount was listed). Arrestee was transported to Roger D. Wilson Detention facility.
• At 10:16 p.m., July 4, officers were dispatched to a Victoria Drive apartment in reference to burglary with force. Victim advised an unknown suspect forced open the back door to her rental property. Property owner advised she was notified by a tenant around 10:12 p.m. about the back door being kicked open. Damage to door was estimated, in the report, at $500. Report did not reference any burglary items. Forensics arrived and processed the scene.
• At 4:06 p.m., Thursday, July 2, an officer responded to 189 Brooklawn Street (Kroger Marketplace) in reference to a hit-and-run in the parking lot. Victim called 911 stating an unknown vehicle had struck the passenger front end of his 2019 Dodge Challenger while he was inside grocery shopping. Damage was estimated, on the report, at $100. No witnesses were located.
• At 9:22 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, an officer responded to a domestic assault at an Andover Boulevard residence. Victim said he and his wife had an argument that become physical. Victim said wife/suspect had struck him on his left side, pushing her away in self defense. Suspect said there was an argument and she hit victim in the side, and her husband then pushed her away. The determination was made the wife was the primary aggressor, and was taken into custody without incident. Both parties refused any medical attention. Victim/husband was given a family crisis card and explained his domestic violence victim rights.
