Webb Class of 2020 graduation

Webb School of Knoxville’s 62nd Annual Commencement ceremony Friday, June 5 — held inside the school’s David Meske Stadium — featured Class of 2020 graduates “who received 380 offers of admission from 148 different higher education institutions, and will matriculate at 50-plus unique universities and colleges across the country,” a school press release stated. Michael McBrien, left, Webb president, addressed the Class of 2020 and their parents. The Class also received “more than $8 million in scholarship offers and merit awards,” the release further stated. Sydney Vafaie-Partin was Class of 2020 valedictorian. She will attend Northeastern University this fall.

Meryl Ye was Class Salutatorian, and she will be attending Cornell. Ye and Lucas Farr, who will attend the United States Air Force Academy this fall, received Webb’s highest awards – the Margaret and Leonhard Scheuermann Trophy and the Dr. S.J. Chapman Memorial Award, respectively.
