• At 8:43 p.m., Sunday, July 12, a complainant called Knox County Sheriff’s Office Teleserve Unit to report a theft from the Walgreens at 10701 Kingston Pike. Complainant said the suspect purchased a fruit cup worth $2.99 and paid with a $100 bill. Once the cashier rang up the fruit cup and printed the receipt, the suspect asked for the bill back stating he has smaller change. Cashier gave the suspect the bill back when the suspect started talking to the cashier and other employees trying to distract the cashier. Suspect then pointed to the receipt saying he did not receive his change. Cashier gave the suspect $95 dollars after the suspect told the cashier to keep the coins.

• At 5:57 p.m., Friday, July 10, an officer was dispatched to a disturbance at Walgreens, 11927 Kingston Pike. Officer reported coming in contact with a male and a female in the back parking lot sitting in a white Lexus that was stalled in the middle of the parking lot. Officer began speaking to both parties, and both of them provided Knox County Probation cards. While conducting a records check he requested consent to search that vehicle. The male consented, but the female would not. While he was waiting for LEIDS to return, officer deployed a K9 to sniff the outside of the vehicle, which he alerted. Inside the vehicle, officer reported locating female’s purse with a wallet that contained her ID. Inside the wallet were two baggies weighing about 1.85 grams allegedly containing crystal meth. LEIDS advised female suspect had eight previous failure-to-appears in Knox County Court. She was taken into custody while the male took control of the vehicle.
