Approached as an art form, Legacy Images opened July 1
Williams said she wanted to offer more than the typical method, known as “shoot and burn,” where clients have photos taken in a studio and then get digital images.
“I really struggled with that because photography, for me, has always been an art above everything else,” she said. “I don’t want to just go out there and give people all these (image) files and have them not know what to do with them.”
As such, Williams’ boutique business, which she operates out of her West Knox County home, provides a more involved experience for her clients, from the consultation stage to the framing of their photo. “I actually sit down with my clients, and we talk about what their needs are, what are they looking for, what are they looking to do with the images and where do they want to hang them on their walls,” she said.
“Then I shoot to fit their need, and we sit down and actually order large wall prints,” Williams added. “For me, photography being such a high art form, I really want that to be something that they see every day.
“I want them to love that image as much as they do the first time they’ve see it and get to love that image every single day that they wake up because it’s right there on their walls.”
As for what is most popular, “I do a lot of individual portraits, private sessions, anniversaries and engagements,” she said. “I haven’t quite reached into the wedding realm yet, mostly because I like to keep things on an individual, personal session rather than doing big events — but that is an area I’m willing to talk to people about.”
For typical family sessions, “I like to do it on location,” Williams said. “We’ll either go to a park, or if they have a particular location (the children) would like to play at, then we’ll shoot there.
Williams also offers boudoir photos, which are more intimate.
After the photos are chosen, she helps the clients choose a custom frame, which is included in the price.
Williams’s office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. To book an appointment or for more information, visit Wiliams’ website at www.legacyimages.photo, call 865-456-8066 or e-mail to twilliams@legacyimages.photo
