Local biz effort, 36 strong, leads Wellness Expo Aug. 8
Featuring 36 Town and local businesses specializing in the care of the human body, providing products for comfort and well-being and healthy lifestyle tips, inaugural Farragut Health & Wellness Expo is just two days away.
It runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, in Farragut Community Center, 239 Jamestowne Blvd. just north of Village Green Shopping Center and Planet Fitness near Campbell Station Road.
Shop Farragut/Farragut Business Alliance is the backbone of this new event, free of charge, which is sponsored by SouthEast Bank.
“We have a few new businesses that have to do with your mental health,” Stephen Krempasky, Alliance executive director, said. “Amramp will show how it is a leader in mobility access. ACTFAST Inc. specializes in CPR training and other emergency techniques.
“Kat’s Lash Lounge & Wax Studio, International Flair Jewelry, Young Living Essential Oil and Ease Into Life, LLC, will feature stress-relieving lifestyle choices,” he added. “Clean Eatz and Clean Juice are providing area households with healthy diet choices.
“Fitness Together, Orangetheory Fitness, the Neighborhood Barre, Anytime Fitness, Apogee Fitness & Training, Gold’s Gym and Campbell Station Jazzercise will give you information on how they approach your daily and weekly exercise regimes.”
Edward Jones and Cyan Insurance Solutions will be on hand to talk financial wellness, while STAR Riding Academy will discuss its special health programs.
Other participants include members of the University of Tennessee Medical Center Advanced Orthopaedic Center & Bariatric Program, East Tennessee Spine & Sport Physical Therapy, Dignity Knoxville, Knoxville Aging In Place, PT Solutions and OsteoStrong of Farragut and even some dentists. MEDIC will be on hand, but it will not have its mobile unit on site, he noted.
Following all COVID-19-prevention steps, “We will ask everybody to wear a mask – I’ll have masks on hand,” Krempasky said, requesting non-family members “not to congregate at any point. We’ll have a one-way traffic (flow)” from the ... gym, circling the gym, then down the hallway to the assembly room.”
