KCSO reports
• At 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 9, a Knox County Sheriff’s Office unit responded to 126 West End Ave., Subway, for an attempted robbery. Upon investigation, the complainant said two unknown black males came into the store to buy cookies.
Complainant said one of the suspects paid in cash, and as he was making change, the suspect kept handing back different, larger bills trying to confuse the complainant and get extra money back. Complainant said he caught on to what the suspect was doing and refused to make change for any more bills. Complainant said he asked the suspect to leave and the suspect grabbed him by his shirt, pulled him over the counter and threatened to shoot the complainant in the head if he didn’t give him all of the money in the drawer. Complainant said both suspects fled the store and got into a white car, possibly a Ford Focus, and fled toward Kingston Pike. Complainant said he did not get a good description of the second suspect because he was too focused on the suspect at the counter. Complainant described one of the suspects as a black male, about 5-foot-11, with a black hoodie, blue jeans and a blue fabric COVID-19-prevention mask with a white border outline.
Suspects were gone prior to officers’ arrival.
