BASH Knoxville helps celebrate life

Libby and Chris Luper, who live just outside Farragut town limits, are helping people celebrate special events with an in-home family business, BASH Knoxville, which they launched Monday, Aug. 17.

“We are super excited to bring BASH to Knoxville,” Libby said. “We’re actually the very first location in the state of Tennessee.”

The couple creates signs in the shape of party hats that can be staked in the yard or placed on a stand outside of a business.

“We are excited for the opportunity to intentionally celebrate all that life has to offer alongside Knoxville,” Libby said.

“We are a ‘hands free’ — meaning once you book us, we do all the work for you — way to celebrate any and every event you can think of,” she added. “Everything from baptisms to first days of school to anniversaries, business grand openings, retirements.

“Our party hats are a whopping 6 feet tall,” she added. “Currently we have five designs: confetti, unicorns, space, blue gingham and Knoxville’s Favorite.

“If you think it deserves to be celebrated, we can definitely help. All of our hats come ‘fully dressed’ with the information that you would like it to have on it.”

For example, “The sign on the front can say ‘Happy Birthday (to the celebrant)’ and the topper can have the person’s age on top,” Libby said. “They are 100 percent customizable to fit whatever the occasion is.

“We get the joy of delivering smiles on a daily basis,” she added. “What could be better, right?

“We are firm believers that everything in life is something to be intentionally celebrated. We, of course, think others should be intentionally celebrating, too.”

Once booked, “We deliver the sign to the location of the customer’s choice the night before their celebration,” Libby said. “We then pick up the sign the day after their celebration. This way people can wake up to a surprise.

“If businesses or events need us just for one day, and not the night before, we can make that happen as well,” she added.

While Libby is the official owner of the home-based company, she said Chris, student ministries pastor at Concord United Methodist Church, is involved in a majority of the operation.

“With us both having full time jobs, and two girls with another on the way, it’s definitely a family affair,” she said. “We’re excited to get our girls involved and teach them the importance of hard work.

“Because BASH is more of what you’d consider a ‘rental’ business, we store our things at our home and don’t have a physical, brick-and-mortar store that customers would visit us at,” Libby added. “We complete all bookings and answer all questions via our website, Instagram and Facebook accounts.”

Values align

“We got interested in BASH specifically because it really aligns to our values as a family,” she said, citing Psalm 126:3, which reads “The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy.”

“We really believe that all of those ‘great things’ deserve to be intentionally celebrated big,” Libby added. “What better way to celebrate the blessings in our lives than with 6-foot-tall party hats?

“When a 6-foot tall party hat is in your yard, it draws attention and others begin to join in your celebrations alongside you, which just makes it even better in our eyes.”
