Town playgrounds have re-opened
When children in Farragut schools begin pinpointing the weekends to enjoy some fun, Town of Farragut’s Parks and Recreation Department has re-opened its playgrounds to help satisfy that desire.
“While the Town’s parks, trails, shelters and athletic fields have been open for a long time, or they never closed, we removed the yellow tape (from the playgrounds) last week and opened them last Friday,” Parks and Recreation director Sue Stuhl said.
“We also placed some temporary signage reminding users to wash hands, stay socially distant, etc., and that use is at their own risk,” she added.
The playgrounds have been closed for several months as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but Stuhl pointed out Knox County playgrounds also were being reopened.
“We also have occupancy noted on the signs and are asking that users limit their play to 20 minutes if others are waiting,” she added.
The highly popular McFee Park splashpad will not open at this time — and may not open for the remainder of the summer season, Stuhl added.
