Finishing the regular season by rushing for 1,001 yards in just nine games, Makai Williams of Bearden slips past Science Hill defenders on the first play from scrimmage Friday night, Oct. 30, at BHS’s Bill Young Field. The senior had a 94-yard touchdown run to help the Bulldogs beat the Hilltoppers 27-7, denying SHHS a Region 1-6A championship while moving the Dawgs up to a No. 3 state tourney seed with final 4-2 region record, 4-5 overall.
