COVID-19 caused Town Hall office closures

COVID-19 hit Farragut Town Hall hard last week, forcing closure of both the administrative and engineering offices last Thursday and Friday, Feb. 25-26.

“The offices (were) closed for disinfecting, but staff was still answering e-mails and phone calls from home,” Town Parks & Recreation director Sue Stuhl confirmed.

In-person office hours resumed at 8 a.m., Monday, March 1.

“The office areas were thoroughly disinfected and (were to) sit over the weekend,” Stuhl added.

The closure came less than a week after several staff members had met in-person with the Town Board of Mayor and Aldermen in a day-long Strategic Planning Retreat.

However, with social distancing measures and mask-wearing reportedly observed, no BOMA official reported being sick as of deadline Tuesday afternoon, March 2.
