Faith Promise, FBA team up for Friday ‘hunt’
Easter Egg hunts aren’t just for children this year.
Faith Promise Church’s Farragut campus is partnering with Shop Farragut/Farragut Business Alliance to offer a community-wide QR (two dimensional Quick Response bar code) Easter Egg Hunt Contest, starting at 10 a.m., Friday, March 19.
Participating businesses are placing a special QR Egg in their store windows, one of which will be the “Golden Egg.” Once found, participants must fill out a form (at the business where the Golden Egg is found) and also post one picture on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #farragutegghunt to be eligible for the grand prize drawing, which will take place after the contest ends April 4.
The “Golden Egg” will be moved every three days during the length of the contest.
Carrie Wrinn, FPC Farragut campus’s fpKIDS pastor, came up with the idea and approached Shop Farragut/FBA executive director Steve Krempasky about a partnership.
“She wanted to do it as a business mission for their church,” Krempasky said. “Shop Farragut is really just supporting it, and we gave her some ideas about how best to go about it, since we have had experience conducting our monthly drawings and giveaways.
“At the end of the day, we are here to help all our area businesses,” he added. “We are delighted to help Carrie promote her idea.”
In reaching out, Wrinn called the Contest “an interactive way to highlight area businesses,” which were “encouraged to donate an item for our prize drawings, although not a requirement” for participation.
Businesses that participated by the March 15 deadline (35 had been confirmed as of Friday, March 12) were given the opportunity to include a promotion in their QR egg to encourage contestants to engage with their business, Wrinn shared in an e-mail.
“Our goal is to provide something fun for contestants as well as promotion for businesses in our community,” she added. “We are very excited to partner with Steve and Shop Farragut, who helped us get in touch with all our local businesses.”
According to the official contest terms, which can be viewed at https://flowcode.com/p/zHeSzmCA?fc=0, there are no entry fees — and no purchase is required.
Grand prize and runner-up prizes had not been determined as of press deadline.
Winners will be notified by phone Wednesday, April 7.
