• BarberMcMurry recently was recognized for giving $22,516 to United Way of Greater Knoxville in 2020 through an employee fundraising campaign.

“BMA has been blessed to be a part of this community for over one hundred years — and in 2020 we were honored to be able to give back to the United Way, which makes such a huge impact in the lives of our friends and neighbors,” said Chuck V. Griffin, BarberMcMurry president/CEO.

• The Helen Ross McNabb Foundation recently launched a $2.35 million capital campaign that will bring additional substance abuse treatment beds to the Knoxville area. Ted Flickinger and Richard Maples, campaign co-chairs said, “By increasing capacity and providing greater access to affordable care, we can save lives in the community.”

• Heyday Wake Boats, a division of Brunswick Corporation, recently received the Customer Satisfaction Index Award from National Marine Manufacturers Association. The annual CSI award recognizes marine manufacturers who attain the highest levels of customer contentment as voted on by Heyday customers.

• University of Tennessee, Knoxville recently was named a 2021-22 Military Friendly Gold School, Military Friendly’s highest designation. UT is one of 747 institutions earning the Gold designation out of 1,200 that were evaluated.

• University of Tennessee, Knoxville, plans to return to a fully in-peson campus experience this fall. Planning includes teaching in classrooms at capacity, returning to normal campus housing, re-opening dining halls, fully staffing campus student services, offering a comprehensive slate of student events and programming and allowing more fans at athletic events.
