• James Chiu recently was promoted to senior director of strategy and execution with Pilot Company in Knoxville. Bringing a strong background in investment and business development in the energy trading sector, Chiu joined Pilot Company in 2018, serving as a senior director of crude logistics for Pilot Energy in Houston, Texas.

His previous roles in origination, investments, mergers and acquisitions for Morgan Stanley & Co., Mercuria Energy Group and Castleton Commodities International took Chiu to multiple cities around the world, including New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, London, Beijing and Geneva.

• Pellissippi State Community College student Ethan Turbyfill recently won first place in Region 4 of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival’s Music Theatre Initiative competition for his phone-recorded audition. Region 4 is comprised of college students from Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, southern Virginia, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. Turbyfill, who will graduate from PSCC in May, finished in the top five of the regional competition in 2020.

• Now through May 31 (or until funds run out), Farragut West Knox Chamber of Commerce is offering all of its members the opportunity to apply for two new scholarship reimbursement paths to help spur business visibility and growth.

This is in addition to the Continuing Education/Training Scholarship reimbursement already available to members of one year or more.
