Creative Cuts opens along K-Pike

John Shayeb, owner of Creative Cuts Barber Shop, brings a love for his customers to the business he opened at 10427 Kingston Pike in November 2020.

“It’s exciting to build something and give people somewhere to go to get a haircut and hang out, talk about stuff — men talk,” he said about opening the business.

In addition to haircuts, he also provides beard trims.

“We do some skin treatments and scalp treatments,” he said. “We care about what we are doing, and we’re passionate about our work.

“We really put a concern on what you look like when you’re leaving out the door. You know, a love for the customer.”

Shayeb was motivated to open a barbershop after working seven years in the trade for another shop.

“I always wanted to branch out and do my own thing,” he said.

So when he drove by and found space available in Frontier Plaza, across the street from Lovell Heights shopping center, “I kind of took advantage of it,” Shayeb said. “I figured the community needed a barber shop around this area.

“I think barbering has gotten more popular in the past couple of years through social media,” he added. “A lot of people are finding out about it and getting into it.

“It’s an art form, and it’s catching on with a lot of people right now.”
