Green’s softball girls were 22-1, champs in 4-AAA

It’s no wonder Farragut softball has a 22-1 overall record while unbeaten at 12-0 in District 4-AAA entering play Tuesday, April 27 — the team batting average is almost .500.

With at least a share of the 4-AAA regular season crown locked up, head coach Nick Green said about his offense, “There’s nobody around here who can say they’re equal to us 1-through-9” in the line-up.

Individually, “(Ace) Strickland and Cameron (Young) are both hitting above .600; Hannah Pfeifer and Sarah Livingston are hitting around .550; and I have Ava Guzowski, Lauren Brakovec, Addison Pressley and Autumn Caywood all hitting .400-plus,” Green said.

The Lady Ads also have been able to count on pitching.

Though not always dominant on the mound, “the pitching staff has done an exceptional job,” Green said. “I think (junior staff ace Avery) Flatford is like 10-0. As for the other two pitchers, Emma MacTavish (freshman) I think is 6-0; and then Avery Mattina, my sophomore, is like 6-1.”
